Kane Richardson is one of several young talented pacers to emerge from Australia in recent times. This South Australia native made his first-class debut during the 2010-11 season and has represented the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. Signed by the Pune Warriors India for IPL 2013, he had the opportunity to sharpen his skills with the legendary Allan Donald. Inducted into the Rajasthan Royals side in the 2014 auction, he will now ply his trade for RCB in Vivo IPL 2016.

A fast bowler who has been on the fringes of Australia’s ODI and T20 teams for some time, Kane Richardson bowls with pace, aggression and a well-directed yorker. Although he has struggled to gain much traction at first-class level for South Australia, Richardson is effective in the shorter forms and in 2016 signed with Royal Challengers Bangalore, his third IPL franchise. He had been one of the big buys of the 2013 IPL when Pune Warriors bought him for US$700,000, although he ended up playing only three matches for them for two wickets at 50.50. His ODI debut came at his home ground, Adelaide Oval, in 2013, but he suffered the ignominy of being ordered out of the attack by the umpires for repeatedly running on the pitch. His breakthrough international performance came in January 2016, when he picked up five wickets in a Man of the Match effort in a victory over India in Canberra.
